About the Volunteer Center of North Texas

Helping one another is part of the Texas tradition.  The Volunteer Center of North Texas celebrated 38 years of helping people help others. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, VCNT has played matchmaker to thousands of nonprofit organizations needing assistance - and countless volunteers eager to help them. Since 1971, organizations serving a myriad of causes from animal advocacy to violence prevention, have relied on the Volunteer Center as their source for volunteers who want to make a difference.

Mission Statement

"Making volunteerism a part of everyday life!"

Local Impact

The Volunteer Center of North Texas makes close to 79,500 traditional volunteer referrals annually. The time these volunteers donate to the community, combined with the hours worked by individuals ordered to perform community service, adds up to more than 2.5 million hours. That hour figure multiplied by $20.25, the current estimated value of a volunteer hour, represents a value to the community of over $50.5 million annually. Another $6 million worth of material resources distributed through our Donated Goods Program brings the amount of The Volunteer Center of North Texas's total impact per year to $60.5 million.

National Relationship

Together with 350 other Volunteer Centers across the country there exists a shared vision of mobilizing people and resources to solve community problems. Nationally, Volunteer Centers reach 140 million people in thousands of communities, connect more than 2 million people with over a million opportunities to serve, and work in partnership with more than 75,000 organizations.
